Ukrainian team House of Morok has unveiled its new gaming project, Peak or Die, a narrative survival game inspired by the atmosphere of the Carpathian Mountains, local legends, and Ukrainian folklore.
The developers have already launched the game's Steam page. The project is currently in the early stages of development, with its release tentatively scheduled for 2027.
In Peak or Die, players will lead an expedition heading toward the summit of a mysterious mountain. According to legend, whoever reaches the peak will be granted the chance to fulfill their deepest wish. At the same time, every decision made during the journey will influence the story and the fate of the entire expedition.
The gameplay combines survival mechanics, interactive storytelling, and resource management. During the ascent, players will need to monitor food and oxygen supplies, maintain the expedition members' morale, and respond to unexpected events.
The game's world is inspired by the Ukrainian Carpathians. One of the main sources of inspiration for the developers was Mount Brebeneskul and the alpine lake of the same name. The creators also reinterpret Carpathian myths and legends to build their own game universe.
Peak or Die can already be added to your Steam wishlist. The House of Morok team continues working on the game and regularly shares development updates.
