The first international Warcraft III Nations Tournament has concluded, featuring the national teams of Ukraine, Germany, Poland, and France. The event was organized by Ukrainian professional player Sonik, who has remained one of the most active representatives of the Ukrainian Warcraft III scene for many years.
The tournament featured a round-robin group stage, where each team faced every other participant. Germany finished at the top of the standings, but Ukraine delivered its best performances in the decisive matches.
In the grand final, Team Ukraine convincingly defeated Germany 4:1 to claim the first championship title in the history of the new tournament.
The deciding match began with a victory for the Sonik/Kas duo, who defeated Leon/Kevin 2:0. Aspect then edged out Teddster in a hard-fought 2:1 series, Kas comfortably beat Kevin 2:0, and SoYma overcame Leon 2:1. Germany's only point came from Edo, who defeated FoDDeR 2:0.
As a result, the grand final ended with a 4:1 victory for Ukraine, making it the inaugural Nations Tournament champion.
The organizers have already announced plans to make the competition a regular event. A unique aspect of the debut tournament was that it featured players who have remained dedicated to Warcraft III for more than twenty years, continuing to keep one of esports' most legendary disciplines alive.
