FIBA has presented an updated “power ranking” of European national teams after the first qualifying window for the 2027 World Cup.

Ukraine, which was 23rd before the start of qualifying, climbed 15 positions and now sits in eighth place. Ainars Bagatskis’ team won two games out of two — first beating Georgia (92:79), then Denmark (88:71), which dropped 18 and 5 places in the rankings respectively and are now in the third ten.

As a reminder, the next matches will take place in February and March 2026 — our team will play two games against Spain.
