Donetsk's Shakhtar not only reached the semifinals of the 2025/26 Conference League but also became one of the tournament's leaders in terms of prize money earned.
According to Football Meets Data, the Ukrainian club earned €14.1 million from its European campaign. This is the third-highest total among all tournament participants.
Only the competition’s finalist, England’s Crystal Palace, and Spain’s Rayo Vallecano received higher payouts. The tournament winner added €20.4 million to its budget, while the Spanish club earned €17.8 million.
Despite the disappointing result in the battle to reach the final, Arda Turan’s team had one of the most successful European campaigns in recent years, which had a positive impact on the club’s financial performance.
Shakhtar’s total revenue consisted of UEFA’s initial payments for tournament participation, match result bonuses, rewards for advancing through the playoff rounds, as well as income from television rights and the club’s ranking coefficient.
Thanks to its successful performance in the Conference League, the Donetsk club not only strengthened its position on the international stage but also secured a significant financial boost ahead of the upcoming season.
