NASA conducted a unique scientific experiment with the official FIFA World Cup 2026 ball. The official Trionda ball was delivered to the International Space Station to study its behavior in zero gravity.
Astronauts repeated a study that was first carried out in 2019. They tested how the ball balances and moves without gravity and air resistance. The main goal was to understand how the ball's internal mass and construction affect its stability under ideal conditions.
Trionda features a modern four-panel design and a built-in 500 Hz motion sensor that records every touch and rotation. The data collected in space will help Adidas engineers further improve the aerodynamics and stability of future footballs.
