The Ukrainian esports organization NAVI failed to secure a spot at the 2026 Esports World Cup in Dota 2, ending its run in the closed qualifiers for the Western Europe region.
The start of the qualifiers for the “Born to Win” team looked quite promising. In the first round, the team defeated Flame Esports 2-1, then confidently beat Zero Tenacity 2-0. These results allowed NAVI to advance to the upper bracket finals and get closer to the coveted spot in the prestigious tournament.
The match against LGD Gaming proved to be the key test. In a tense series, NAVI lost 1-2, missing out on the chance to qualify directly for the Esports World Cup.
After dropping to the lower bracket, the team still had a chance to compete for the region’s second spot, but they were unable to capitalize on it. In the decisive matches, NAVI failed to regain their best form and ended their run in the qualifiers, remaining outside the list of participants for the EWC 2026 LAN finals.
The loss to the Pipsqueak+4 mix caused particular disappointment among fans, after which the organization’s social media was flooded with critical comments. Well-known Ukrainian Dota streamer Gostik also reacted to the team’s results.
In his opinion, NAVI’s main problem remains psychological instability during series. The streamer noted that the team has enough individual skill for consistent performances at the highest level, but often loses focus after setbacks and is unable to get back into the game.
Despite failing to qualify for the Esports World Cup, the season is not over for NAVI. Ahead lies the battle for a spot at The International—the most prestigious tournament in the Dota 2 world, which remains the primary goal for most professional teams.
