World No. 1 Jannik Sinner successfully defended his Wimbledon title. In the final of the grass-court Grand Slam tournament, the Italian defeated Germany's Alexander Zverev in four sets to claim his second consecutive title in London.
The championship match ended with Sinner securing a 6:7, 7:6, 6:3, 6:4 victory. After losing the opening set in a tiebreak, the Italian took control of the match by winning the next three sets and denying his opponent any chance of fighting back for the title.
Wimbledon 2026 became the second consecutive edition of the tournament in which the world No. 1 and world No. 2 met in the final. Last year, Sinner defeated Spain's Carlos Alcaraz in the championship match, and this time he confirmed his status as the world's best player by overcoming Alexander Zverev.
