The construction project of the massive Wynn Al Marjan Island casino resort in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah (UAE) has reached a key milestone. In December 2025, the main tower frame of the future resort giant – 70 floors and 283 meters tall – was completed. Work at this stage took 27 months since the foundation was laid.
According to Gulf Business, a spire is planned to be installed on the building in 2026, bringing the total height of the complex to 352 meters. This will make it the tallest structure in Ras Al Khaimah, significantly changing the emirate’s architectural landscape.
What the casino resort will include
Wynn Al Marjan Island will become the UAE’s first integrated resort with a casino, hotel, and entertainment infrastructure. According to Hotelier Middle East, the complex will occupy over 60 hectares on the artificial Al Marjan Island and will include:
- more than 1,500 hotel rooms and suites;
- private beachfront villas;
- dozens of fine dining restaurants;
- shopping galleries;
- recreational areas with private beaches;
- yacht marina;
- entertainment and event spaces.
The central feature will be the gaming area, operating under the UAE’s new regulatory model. In 2023, the country established a federal gaming oversight authority – the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority – paving the way for legalization of such projects.
Timeline and budget
- The resort is scheduled to open in spring 2027.
- Main hotel buildings are expected to be completed by the end of November 2026.
- The total project budget is estimated at $5.1 billion.
- About 67% of the funds have already been spent or contracted, indicating a high level of project readiness.
Why this is important for the region
Wynn Resorts analysts estimate the UAE gambling market potential at up to $5 billion in annual gross revenue. Wynn Al Marjan Island itself is projected to generate $1–1.7 billion in annual gaming revenue, placing it among the leading resorts in Macau and Las Vegas.
Therefore, the implementation of this project is expected to make Ras Al Khaimah a new tourism and entertainment hub of the Middle East, with Wynn Al Marjan Island serving as the flagship of the UAE’s new industry.
