Conor McGregor reacted to his UFC comeback defeat and questioned the official outcome of the bout. He also addressed betting refunds and his recovery following the injury.
Former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor reacted to his defeat against Max Holloway, stating that the bout should be declared a no contest. The Irishman also called for fans to be refunded the money they spent on bets. He published the statement on his Instagram.
However, the official fight result remains unchanged — Holloway won by technical knockout. Such decisions are reviewed extremely rarely in the UFC, leaving virtually no chance of the outcome being changed.
McGregor's return to the Octagon after a five-year absence ended just 69 seconds into the opening round. While attempting a jumping kick, the Irishman reportedly injured his knee and then signaled to the referee that he was unable to continue.
McGregor later announced that he will undergo surgery in the near future. As a result, his future in the Octagon has once again become uncertain.
Despite the unsuccessful comeback, the Irishman's UFC contract still includes one more fight. However, it remains unknown when he will be able to return to the Octagon.
