Chelsea have officially announced the signing of English winger Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa. The 23-year-old has signed a long-term contract with the London club that will run until the summer of 2033.
According to British media reports, the transfer cost the Blues £117 million. The full amount will reportedly be paid without performance-related bonuses, making Rogers the most expensive signing in Chelsea's history and the most expensive British footballer ever.
Before joining the London club, Rogers was one of Aston Villa's key players. He made 85 Premier League appearances, directly contributing to 40 goals through goals and assists.
Overall, the Englishman played 125 matches for the Birmingham club, scoring 31 goals and providing 29 assists. Last season, he also helped Aston Villa win the UEFA Europa League.
Rogers made his England debut in November 2024. Since then, he has earned 22 international caps, including appearances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and will now continue his career with Chelsea, who are preparing for the new season under Xabi Alonso.
