Active concessions extended until the final decision.
The Portuguese government extended casino management concessions in Algarve, Espinho, and Póvoa de Varzim for three months amid the ongoing tender process for new licenses. This decision allows current operators to continue working until all formalities are completed.
The extension is linked to delays in the licensing round, which was initially set to conclude by December 31, 2025. New concessions are planned for 15 years and cover five casinos across three zones.
Existing contracts were previously extended to compensate for downtime during the pandemic.
