Kazakhstan's capital, Astana, has officially been announced as the host city of the IESF 2027 Esports World Championship (WEC27). The announcement was made on July 2 during the official signing ceremony.
The tournament will bring together more than 150 IESF member national federations and will become one of the largest esports events in the world. Players will represent their countries under national flags, creating a unique atmosphere of national pride and unity.
WEC27 will be held under the principles of fair play, inclusivity, international cooperation, and cultural exchange. The championship will feature several popular disciplines in which national teams will compete.
The hosting agreement was signed by the International Esports Federation (IESF), the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the Kazakhstan Esports Federation. The ceremony took place during the opening of a new university campus, highlighting the connection between the event and the development of education, technology, and youth.
Hosting WEC27 will become part of Kazakhstan's long-term strategy for youth development, innovation, and international cooperation.
Organizers have announced that details regarding the tournament format, schedule, qualification process, and ticket sales will be revealed in the coming months.
