Eclipse player PihLziNh0 has released a chat log in which former pro player jmqa attempted to recruit him for match-fixing.
According to the published messages, jmqa inquired about the team’s skill level and its participation in tournaments, after which he moved on to a proposal to ‘make some extra money.’ He directly hinted at the possibility of creating a long-term project related to betting, including match-fixing or other money-making schemes.
In response, PihLziNh0 asked for clarification on what exactly was meant, after which he received a direct offer: “match-fixing, bro” and “everything related to betting.” The Eclipse player reacted sharply, stating that such actions are unacceptable, regardless of the level of the scene or the discipline.
In the exchange, jmqa also expressed a cynical view of the Tier-3 Counter-Strike scene, calling it “total shit” and stating that cheaters and violations are present “in every qualifier and every tournament.” He added that modern CS for players is “just about money,” with no ambition or competitive spirit.
PihLziNh0 clearly refused any involvement in such schemes: “The answer will always be no; I won’t have anything to do with it.”
It is known that jmqa previously competed on the professional scene and played for Quantum Bellator Fire and Winstrike. As part of Quantum Bellator Fire, he reached the playoffs at one of the Majors. He ended his active playing career in 2019, and his last appearance on HLTV was recorded in 2024 at the CCT Season 2 North America Series 3 tournament.
The incident once again raises questions of integrity at the lower levels of the professional Counter-Strike scene, where the problem of match-fixing and betting is more relevant than ever.
